This year on 28 June the Matariki star cluster rises into our skies signalling the beginning of a month of celebration.

During Matariki we acknowledge what we have and what we have to give. Matariki celebrates the diversity of life. It's a celebration of culture, language, spirit and people.

Matariki is our Aotearoa Pacific New Year.

Matariki is a time for making special things for family and friends - share a meal, share family stories, learn about the stars.

Matariki is a time to plant trees and winter crops. A time of new beginnings and reflection.

More from Bec and Harold....We were excited that today we got to visit Harold again.
We loved going inside his special classroom.

Today we talked about choosing a variety of food for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Thanks Bec and Harold. We had so much fun.
See you again next year.

If you want to go to Harold's website, click on the link below.
You can play games, sing songs and colour worksheets.

This morning we were so excited about going to see Bec and her helper, Harold the Giraffe at the Life Education Caravan.
The focus of the visit was to learn about eating a VARIETY
of food to give us ENERGY.
We made a food puzzle about the food we eat lots of and the food that has sneaky ingredients like sugar, salt and fat..

Please ask your child what they have been learning about.....

Congratulations Rhian - Our Gym Star of the Day
